軟木橡膠 CORK

Rubber bound cork is a very good gasketing material and is bound together with cork granulates and a synthetic rubber material. Depending on the seal and area of use the cork is available with different sizes of granulates.
我們更常見的軟木橡膠是橡木顆粒與丁腈橡膠混煉創(chuàng)造出一種非常耐油的材料，用于燃料和油密封。常用的丁腈混合軟木材料，常用于密封氣體閥、鍋爐、熱泵、發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)墊圈和傳統(tǒng)工業(yè)產(chǎn)品。
Our more common cork-mix is with a Nitrile rubber to create a very oil-resistant material that’s used for fuel- and oil seals. The more common Nitrile blended cork material is used with great benefit of sealing gas valves, boilers, heat pumps, engine gaskets and traditional industrial products.

The rubber bound cork is flexible like other pure rubber compounds. The material is compressible and very resilient. We recommend cork blended rubber for a seal that should live through repeated compressions. The material is very friction friendly (high friction) and survives longer periods of wear compared to other materials.

The cork is also recommended as an acoustic seal because of its low conductivity.

Cork blended rubber is environmentally friendly because the majority of the material is harvested naturally. The cork is a natural material from the cork-oak.

A common myth about these oaks are that we will run out of cork because of the harvesting process of cutting down the trees. This is, as mentioned, a myth.

The cork oak trees are peeled and not cut down. Before it’s possible to harvest a cork tree for the first time it must grow for 25 years. After that it may be peeled again after nine years.
